Judywedding Photoshoot

I have signed up with Judywedding somewhere last year. I will not disclose the package I have gotten, but it was a pretty awesome deal, I will suggest you guys to really bargain hard. Stuffs that they are more willing to give will include:

Extra gown, make up and hairdo. Usually is just 5 sets, but I have gotten 6.

Better quality poster
Crystal photo album cover
Thank you cards that they willing give, upgraded from 200 pieces to 600. (This is part of their advertisement for them anyway. Haha)
And loads of other freebies like Ferris wheel, framed photo, small book that consist of the selected photos
Number of photos, more difficult but not entirely impossible

So before all of that, we aliased through emails to confirm the date we go to Taiwan, when to select the gowns (usually 1 day prior to photoshoot), photoshoot date, and date and time to choose the photos (usually 1 day after the photoshoot). I wanted to pick Kun 哥 as our photographer but was told that he had left because of various reasons. So I browse through their wedding portfolio and found another series of photos that I really like, and that photographer is Ah Lun, or Lun 哥. Amy 老师 was also not working there anymore, so I just asked them to give me someone as good as her. Right after the day my spouse and I did our ROM, we flew to Taiwan.

We picked our gowns the following day as we only managed to secure the date for Lun 哥 on the third day. When we reached, we were greeted warmly and they really make you feel at home. They even gave free warm bubble teas to my hubby and I. Felt like we are being treated like royalties. I chose a variety of gowns so that I can look different for every outfit. I guess there is no rule of the thumb when it comes to such things, as long as you try the gowns, it looks great on you, you like it, then take it. It also helps if you can convey to the coordinator what kind of gowns you like or dislike.

One point to note is to bring your own nubra, and even though I brought mine, the coordinator mentioned that I should have two so that my bustline will look nicer. I guess this only applies to ladies that need a bit of push. Lol. Having to buy their nubra will cost alot, so I went to Shilin, one of the bra shops to purchase the extra one that I need.

We then needed to convey to the photographer about what kind of style we like/dislike, and where we would like our photos to be taken. For me, a must is the cherry blossoms/sakura and the rest will be at tamsui manor because I don't want to travel here and there, waste time on transport and it will be so tiring.

So our photoshoot was scheduled on the 4th of March 2014, and at 7am, we had to reach our bridal studio. The MUA assigned to me is Maggie
老师, and she bought us breakfast(polly going to claim from judywedding) as we joked that we will feel hungry because never eat breakfast, must come so early. LOL. It is advisable to use their ampoules, can also make the MUA happy and make you chio the entire day). Her make up skills are really zai, and this is coming from me who is used to using heavy make up. She did my make up and hair for around 30 - 45 minutes before proceeding to do Hubby's. Afterwhich, we were greeted by Ah Guai (the assistant) to direct us some simple instructions on the posing instructions that the photographer will give afterwards. We then travelled to Yang Ming Shan, lead by the photographer and luck was at our side as the cherry blossom was in full bloom and so very pretty! The downside is that it is really cold so BTBs have to really bear with the weather (around 10-15 degree celsius) while strutting around with the wedding gowns that left your shoulders or certain parts of your body exposed. It did not help that it rained almost the entire day.

Although it rained the entire day, the photos still come out really really pretty. It is really tiring for the entire team as they have to take care of your appearances, just like those stars in ad photoshoot, the MUA will go and smoothen the hair if she finds it a little messy etc, whether you are cold (the MUA immediately wrapped me up in the fur coat whenever we weren't shooting, very sweet of her).

We ended the shoot at around 7+pm and reach the studio at 8+ pm. I would advise BTBs to never attempt to wash off that thick hairsprayed hairstyle and just hit the nearest salon to get them to do it for you. Even though I opted for a better kind of wash, it only costed me S$15.

The following day, we went for our photo selection. There were a total of 300+ images and we managed to narrowed down after a few rounds of elimination. The photographer will offer you a package deal and discuss what other stuffs he can throw in for you etc. We came back the next day after the photo selection to then check on the editing of photos, and they even done up the photo album layout already. So you can convey to them what you like and don't like, and they will ask the photoshop personnel to do it on the spot for you, right in front of you. I don't know which BS is so efficient already.

Anyway, I am going to receive the package pretty soon, in April and to cut the story short, here are the pictures taken by Lun 哥:

I know you can't tell that it was raining but it really is, especially the yellow gown by the sea. We were freezing our ass off for that one. I will highly recommend Judywedding for their top notch service and dedication to making the photoshoot a less tiring one. Other charges that are not inclusive will include the ampoules as mentioned above, fees to bring the MUA along (please do so, she is the one who help with the change in dress and styling), transport charge (payable to the driver directly), and the entrance fee to tamsui manor.

Hope that this is helpful somewhat to the other BTBs out there who have chosen judywedding to have a piece of their mind and also BTBs who are looking to take their photoshoot in Taiwan.

As above is my bridal studio package that is situated in Singapore. I think the pricing has since gone up as it was $3388 in year 2012. We signed up with them because the girl did not try to hardsell us the package, instead she focused on the photography which is their strong point. Their weakness will be their limited selection of gowns as mentioned in many forums, I hope that is not a problem in the future because I only need to choose a few, so as long as the few I super love can already la, don't need so many choices. More choices = bigger headache over which one to choose. Nonetheless, I knew in my heart that 32 photos will not fulfill me. At the same time, Taiwan's photoshoot has always won me over. So.... I devised another plot to get Patrik to sign up another Taiwan photoshoot with me.

The proposal

I got proposed to on 10th of August 2012.

Prior to that, Patrik, who never fails to spoil me, asked me what kind of ring I would like. Without hesitation, I told him, I knew I want a heart shaped diamond. The heart shaped diamond is essentially a pear-shaped diamond with a cleft at the top and the diamond itself is is considered by some to be the most romantic of all diamond cuts.

It is difficult to buy heart shaped diamond rings in Singapore. Of all the shops I went to, only love & co has the most number of heart shaped diamond, but their spects are not good.

I only had a budget of 4k from Patrik, which is generous in my opinion. Yet, it can only buy a 0.4ct
not-so-good spects heart shaped diamond from love & co. Note that most of their heart diamond comes with IGI cert instead of GIA cert, which again could ranked 2 ranks lower compared to a GIA cert.

Hence, the search begins:

1) within budget
2) ideal cut, excellent polish, VG symmetry, 0.9 ratio, minimum of F colour, VS2
3) GIA cert

Sooo, after many many research and emails, I finally found my ideal diamond!!

I did not plan to "upgrade" because I believe there is more meaning attached to a proposal ring and it is for a lifetime. So I ended up with a sizable one. Extremely contented.

With the budget in mind, I got my ring from here.

0.72 ct
EX cut
EX polish
VG symmetry
F colour
VS2
0.9 ratio
GIA cert

I sort of exceeded the budget because it ended up a little over 4.4k after being taxed GST and shipping. I tried to justify its value by stating that I will wear it everyday and I am keeping to the promise still. Also, I can never get this kind of value through buying from Singapore brick and mortar shops as they will have to pay for their shop rent and advertisements. Thus, it is really value for money to get it directly from the US.

We also went to Far East Plaza to get the diamond verified by Nanyang Gemological Institution and good news to all, it is legit. So no worries from buying from the site. :)

Patrik kept the ring from me afterwards and kept insisting that it will not be so soon. I was getting anxious as I super love my ring. So that fateful day came, as I was using my Internet and just reading off some article, I received a phone call at 12am, wishing me a happy 43rd monthniversary and asking me to look down from the window.

It was A+ effort for him, forming the words 'Marry ME' from thousands of petals that he bought off eBay.

As he knelt down and asked for my hand, I remembered I was too surprised at this gesture of him and all I could utter is, "Ok lor." and the rest is history.

Happily engaged since 10/01/2012.

Introduction

Hi all, so this is our first post. We are in the mist of getting married and building a future together. So I thought, what better ways than to start a blog to document all the events together? It will be even memorable to read, many years down the road.

My name is Irene and I am the main author of this blog and I will be writing a lot about my preparations and such, and I hope you are here because you are getting married and enjoy reading wedding blogs, otherwise it will surely bore the hell out of you. Most of my friends are not getting married yet, so it is hard to share my excitement and it will be unfair for them to hear me rattle on and on, which is also yet another reason why I am blogging about these instead. Hiak hiak! As mentioned earlier and hint of why my friends aren't getting married yet, this is because I am 24+ year old this year, and I know it is a young age to get married in Singapore but I guess when you meet the right one, you will be ready. Furthermore, we have been dating since 10/1/2010. So that is about 5 years+ and this is a picture of us some years ago.

So anyhow, we have booked our BTO many many years ago, in year 2010. Yes, it is that far ahead and I suspect we are going to get our keys soon. Much to my joy and excitement to turn it into a barbie house, much to my hubby-to-be's dismay. And this is the BTO that we have booked..

Punggol Topaz! Our nest in the near future.

I guess that is all for now. Will blog about other stuffs pretty soon.
